 Kelantan blue rice - we were a bit wary of this one, but it is coloured with essence from blue flowers rather than indigo469E.

 Kota Bahru morning markets, this picture shows about 1/20 of the market. Lots of fruit & veg we have never seen before.

A nice afternoon storm actually cooled the temperature down. For once it wasn't ridiculously hot.

So we booked a garden view room (which translates as 'you cannot see the beach') Our room wasn't ready at check-in, so they put us in a beachfront deluxe room. I was furious!!!

My awesome $10 mustache shirt
postscript - This shirt has proven to be somewhat of a hit. Suddenly the hotel staff try to get me into taxis (I guess people in this kind of shirt don't walk), waiters smile and make jokes (usually they are quite stiff & surly), an old man, wearing an equally awful shirt, ran up to shake my hand in the street and service in general from banks to 7-11s has improved considerably. I seem to have unwittingly joined some kind of secret club.

 I was delighted to visit Fort Cornwallis, tho $20 to get in and walk around on some grass is a rip.

 A mythical cannon that floats because a prince tied a thread on his finger and cursed it.

 We went to the movies, $8 for 3D on a big screen. We were the only people in the cinema. What did we see? Doesn't matter.
